[size=2] 等到1995年，“慢潜”被艺术与赚钱两不耽误的Creation公司赶走了，霍尔斯特德便和戈斯韦尔、卡琴这二位爷一起录了6首Demo(据说仅用了3天时间)，并在其中几首连伴奏都没有的情况下把该Demo寄给了4AD，4AD的人听了以后，居然觉得还不错，于是，“莫哈韦3”这事就算成了。1995年夏天，刚刚提到的那三位爷终于以“莫哈韦3”的名义签约于4AD旗下。

[size=2] 我相信，几乎所有“莫哈韦3”的乐迷在一开始都是被他们音乐中的平静和安宁吸引住的，就算一时没有爱不释手，但每当我们烦躁不安的时候，总会想听他们的声音来舒缓神经。对于他们的音乐，普遍的看法是：“莫哈韦3”是一支唯美的民谣乐队。对此霍尔斯特德曾有如下评价：“我知道我们会被别人定义为一支民谣乐队，我可以理解别人为什么这样说。但是我们从来没有尝试过要做一支民谣乐队……事实上，我甚至感觉不到我们是一支乐队，我们都有自己正式的工作……基本上来说，我们只是想在一起写些简单的音乐……”如你所见，霍尔斯特德虽然说了将近一百个字，但还是没能把他话说明白。对音乐的定义并不重要，“莫哈韦3”的音乐的确具有和民谣一样温暖的感觉。

Mojave 3在《Ask Me Tomorrow》里，旋律，歌词，唱腔，一切都把Indie-pop,Dream－pop演绎得清新，简单而又动人。有人说Mojave 3像Beatles。我想，英国的吉他乐队很难说有谁没继承Beatles的遗产，但是对于Mojave 3，更重要的却是重新解读伟大的传统：由Bob Dylan，Don Mclean重申的民谣传统，由川端康成发挥到极至的唯美叙事传统。
最后我还是要坦白的对所有期待一张摇滚唱片的朋友说；《Ask Me Tomorrow》只是一张简洁而精美的情歌作品集。桀骜不逊，自以为是，愤懑或者激情，这些词语早已为《Ask Me Tomorrow》所远离。它比Sparkle Horse更平和，比Mazzy Star更温暖，它也不会像Mercury Rev那样说“all is dream"，因为它本身就是一个梦境，本应属于某个梦幻年代。
